Draft Production Plan
Template Outline
First I will outline the basic elements of my magazine such as Magazine name, Themes for each edition, Style of fashion, Target audience and Tone. After 4 drafts of magazine names, I have
decided to name the magazine Flux Focus as it has a young urban feeling to it. Flux has a meaning of flow and energy which really portrays the demographic I'm targeting and the genre of fashion I'm portraying. Focus has a meaning of a centre of interest and activity which urban fashion tends to do; it stands out due to its quality and trends. As mentioned already the sought of fashion I will be using is trending urban fashion. This style of fashion is captivating due to brands such as Fila or champion, which as old brands want as popular however now making a strong comeback mainly due to famous celebrities portraying these brands. For my theme I would most likely do an urban feeling to it with the background in front of a city centre or a grand building to give it that prestigious and urban feeling. My Target audience represents the status of style, looking good and staying ahead of trends. My Target audience are considered cool and stylish due to influence of urban fashion and music they listen to. These connect closely with my target demographic of a culturally sophisticated AB 16-25 year old who would be more incline in this target demographic due to the expenses of urban clothing.
Overview/Concept
On both front covers there will be a model in urban street fashion. I will edit the photo so it will be more vibrant then it already is to connect closely with the summer season and my magazine. My first Model will be Male who will be in urban fashion. It will be a top to bottom full body shoot. He will also be looking from the camera swaying in a slanted position. My second Model who will be a white male will be looking straight at the camera however in a different location such as in front of a Grand Building or brick wall for an urban feeling. My Masthead of the magazine will be Bold compared to the other text on the screen in order to attract my demographic. The title will be "Flux Focus" which will be on the top of the magazine. It will be in a very large font in order to capture the readers attention. There will be no border lines for my magazine front cover. As for my content pages, I will make it simple so the audience find it easier to read it.
Models
Main two models will be from two different ethnic backgrounds, one being white and the other black. Both will have the same fashion. For the black Model I will likely use a friend or my brother and for the white model I will use my friend. My models will be portrayed as upper/middle class with there appearance. This should relate closely with my target demographic of class AB. The style of fashion they will be using will connect with the genre of fashion I will be portraying of urban fashion.
Locations
Cheltenham is one location I may use as they have historic grand buildings I may use for a background to show a touch of high class, which may appeal more to my target demographic of AB Class 16-25 year old. As I'm using grand buildings in the background it will show a touch of vintage, which connects closely with the style of fashion i'm going to use. Most of my shots in these locations will be taken while in clear weather to portray all the colours of the background. My second location Im going to use will be a quite a plain background as i want to edit in colours on the magazine cover to make it stand out.
1. Grand Building
2. Plain Sky Backgound
Visual Elements/Mise en Scene/Style Choices
My male Model may wear a Bum bag to show youth as my target demographic is 16-25 years old. My white male Model is likely to wear trending urban fashion like Fila. Visually both models will be shown from their waist up. My male model may sit down in there shoot with the grand building over rising them. I will be using as much natural colours in the photo shoot and edit it to make it more vibrant. As for Style of fashion it will connect closely with the genre of fashion I want to portray which is urban fashion. I will make sure all visual elements and props connects with the target demographic.
Equipment, resources and crew you will need
I will most likely be using a school camera in order to capture photos for my magazine. For my editing software i will be using school computers as they obtain the editing software i will be likely to use or i may use my sisters mac book at home For my crew which will be two models. One is most likely to be a male friend of mine and the female model will be my sister who are both in the age range of 16-25 year old. To travel to locations I will most likely use the train to travel; to places such as Cheltnham. As for taking the photographs, it will only be me taking the photos so no other crew will be needed to help me.
Possible struggles
One of the main struggles of this course will be struggling sometimes to keep up to date with my schedule with timings and get things done before the deadline. The second most likely factor i will be struggling with will be the weather when I plan to make shoots. I want clear sunny weather so if it may rain that would have to delay the photo shoot which may effect the models schedule. Hopefully Ill plan closer to the dates so i can check the weather forecast for the specific location i would want to do my photo shoot.
Summary
Overall my magazine will be connected closely with trending urban street fashion to meet with my target demographic of Class AB 16-25 year old. All my productions will meet with my final statement of intent.
